    The collections specialist will continuously follow up with providers regarding the status of open balances on the aging.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Make outbound collections calls to providers in an attempt to collect payment on outstanding A/R.  Track for follow up phone calls.
    • Work backlog of denied/rejected claims for timely resubmission
    • Establish collections priorities based on amounts outstanding by providers
    • Resolve issues related to unapplied cash and other problems/issues such as missing checks
    • Work collaboratively with co-workers to ensure all deadlines for department are met in an efficient manner
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned working collaboratively with the team

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Healthcare Billing: 1 year (Required)
    • Collections: 1 year (Required)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, proper phone etiquette
    • Work independently and in a group setting
    • Establish and prioritize task list, critical thinking is a must
    • Meticulously detail oriented and accurate data entry/informational communications
    • Organized, works well with others
    • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with high volume of accounts
    • Comply with HIPPA, State and Federal laws as well as company policies.
