    Connect America is looking for a talented, detail oriented, and enthusiastic BI Quality Assurance Data Analyst and multitasker extraordinaire to join our business intelligence team. The candidate will work closely with our data analysts, product managers, and data warehouse developers to assist in data analysis, testing of data loading, and automation of reporting throughout the company. They will help champion our data, and help identify and resolve any data discrepancies within the data warehouse or reporting within the company.


    The ideal candidate demonstrates and promotes innovation, and proactively seeks out automated solutions to business problems. They should consult with data owners and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and help generate a solution as well as understand the potential impacts to processes and systems across organization and factors these into solutions and testing scenarios.


    • Review requirements and technical design documents with developers to confirm expected functionality and business needs.
    • Implementation, evaluation, and documentation of the developed test cases and scenarios.
    • Determine test environment and test data requirements, often in concert with integrated systems owners
    • Development of BI and automated reporting testing processes.
    • Must be able to communicate with leads regarding project readiness, status and potential risks. Document, quantify, and elevate risks as appropriate.
    • Provide statistical reporting and analysis as necessary.
    • Tracks and coordinates defect resolution and retesting quantifying and mitigating risk accordingly.
    • Enthusiastically collaborates with business partners to ensure data and reporting requirements are fulfilled.
    • Participate in discovery meetings, provide estimates, analyze and validate project requirements and technical specifications, perform impact analysis and document key issues.
    • Develop the testing strategy and manage the testing effort. Evaluate data changes and anomalies against previous tends; and provide guidance to resolve variances.
    • Resolve issues found in testing and develop benchmarks for testing data and provide metrics reporting on test execution and defects.
    • Drive BI testing including Functional Testing, Results validation, Regression Testing, System, Integration Testing, Automated Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
    • Troubleshoot SSRS and Pentaho job failures by rerunning jobs if necessary


    • Bachelor's Degree in CS, Math, Economics & 3 years of relevant work experience
    • Knowledge of data mining, and statistical analysis
    • Experience working with development teams from the initial development of business requirements, through all the development/testing steps and providing on-going maintenance and support.
    • Knowledge of Software testing processes and automated tools, with an ability to apply software testing methods and techniques in a business intelligence environment.
    • Strong experience in writing advanced SQL statements in order to test data loads and automated reporting
    • Knowledge of relational databases - can navigate and extract data as necessary
    • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing, while also articulating and translating technical language to non-technical customers.
    • Track record of consistently driving projects to completion and taking accountability for work and results, as well as confronting tough issues and situations.
    • Ability to communicate with data warehouse team regarding status, issues and risks on a timely basis. Identify, mitigate and drive project issues and risks to resolution.
    • Analyze data trends, draw conclusions and recommend direction. Develop algorithms for capturing data changes and trends to facilitate continuous monitoring of data quality.
    • Establish validation benchmarks and automated processes for data quality improvements for the weekly/monthly validations and data quality checks to ensure data is accurate for analytics. Develop trending reports and data quality metrics for reporting
    • Assimilates information quickly, communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to analyze the root cause of a problem and demonstrate good sense when handing the problem over to development.
